FAQ’S
What is Reformer Pilates?
Reformer Pilates is a form of exercise that incorporates all the usual elements of Pilates on a Reformer Machine.
The resistance created by the pulley and spring system of the Reformer provides a challenging strength and endurance workout.
During the class you will be instructed to push or pull the platform against the spring resistance and controlling the movement back, or holding it in place. This can be done standing, sitting, upside down and using all the different elements of the Reformer. You’ll also incorporate accessories like a shoulder block, Pilates rings, small weights and resistance bands.

How many classes should I do per week?
There is no hard and fast rule. Beginners usually start with 1-2 sessions per week and experienced Reformer participants two or more. We recommend that you listen to your body and ensure you get adequate recovery. To get the best results, it is recommended to do a variety of workouts so that you are continually challenging your muscles.

Due to the popularity of Reformer Pilates, unused classes can unfortunately not be carried over or accumulate over a period of time. We created the options with a fair and inclusive mindset to allow everybody to experience Reformer Pilates. There will likely not be room for make-up classes and we encourage everybody to follow the booking and cancellation process.
Can I do Reformer Pilates if I am pregnant/postnatal?
Reformer Pilates is a great way to maintain fitness throughout pregnancy and to rehabilitate after labour. It is important to strengthen the pelvic floor, glutes, legs, and arms. You should however exercise caution and we recommend that you consult your physician as to what training your can do and when you may return to exercise after giving birth.
